Faculty Positions
Assistant Professor Position at the Centre for Cryogenic Technology, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
The Centre for Cryogenic Technology (CCT) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor. The Centre provides a dynamic and collaborative environment for innovative, interdisciplinary research that spans both fundamental and applied aspects of cryogenics. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated exceptional promise in the field.
Faculty responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and master’s levels, conducting cutting-edge research, and supervising research scholars. Ph.D., with First Class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, and a good academic record throughout. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Cryogenics from a reputable institute or laboratory, with 2 to 3 years of postdoctoral experience at renowned national or international organizations. Outstanding candidates may also be considered for appointments at the Associate or Full Professor levels.
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in, but not limited to, the following areas:
Cryogenic Propulsion, Space Cryogenics, Cryo-Microscopy, Cryocoolers, Large-Scale Liquefiers and Refrigerators, Hydrogen Technology, Quantum Technology, Superconductivity

Postdoctoral Positions
The Centre is actively seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellows to conduct original research in the field of Cryogenics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Cryogenics from a reputable institute or laboratory, within 1 to 2 years of his PhD viva. Candidates are going to submit their final thesis also eligible to apply. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the cryogenic domain from well-known national or international laboratories. Interested applicants should submit their curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a motivation letter, and a research proposal summary to the Chairman of the Centre for Cryogenic Technology (CCT) via email, along with a copy to their proposed mentor.
Research staff Positions
The department is actively seeking scientific staff and project staff. Applicants are encouraged to send a brief statement of interest to the relevant faculty members of the department. Experience in cryogenics is desirable for these positions.
Research Students and interns
The department is actively seeking excellent PhD and M.S. students, and research interns. Students are encouraged to send a brief statement of interest to the relevant faculty members of the department. While experience in cryogenics is desirable, it is not essential for all positions.
